Julia Stiles and her professional partner Ezra Sosa have been eliminated from Dancing With the Stars Season 35. The actress went home at the end of Disney Night, which aired live on ABC on Monday, November 2, 2026, leaving seven couples in the race for the Mirrorball Trophy.
The 10 Things I Hate About You star had been one of the season’s steadier performers, but a mid-table score and the audience vote were not enough to carry her into Week 9.
What We Know
Disney Night was a double-scoring episode. Every couple performed an individual routine to a Disney-linked song, then joined one of two team dances, with both marks added together for a total out of 80.
Stiles and Sosa chose a paso doble set to “Satisfied” from Hamilton, which earned 33 out of 40 from the judges. Their group routine with “Team Slaytopia,” danced to “Zoo” from Zootopia 2, picked up 36 points, giving them a combined 69. The rival “Team Wildcats,” performing “We’re All in This Together” from High School Musical, scored a perfect 40.
Two couples hit the top mark in the individual round. Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson earned 40 for a jazz routine to “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from Mary Poppins, while Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy also scored 40 with a quickstep to “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast. Paralympian Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach followed with 37 for a samba to “Under the Sea.”
The full individual leaderboard looked like this:
- Harry Shum Jr. & Jenna Johnson (Jazz): 40
- Jenna Dewan & Val Chmerkovskiy (Quickstep): 40
- Ezra Frech & Daniella Karagach (Samba): 37
- Amber Glenn & Pasha Pashkov (Quickstep, “A Star Is Born” from Hercules): 34
- Tatyana Ali & Jan Ravnik (Contemporary, “Easy as Life” from Aida): 33
- Julia Stiles & Ezra Sosa (Paso doble): 33
- Maura Higgins & Mark Ballas (Jive, “You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!” from Peter Pan): 32
- Connor Wood & Rylee Arnold (Waltz, “I See the Light” from Tangled): 32
Stiles did not finish at the bottom of the judges’ table. Maura Higgins, who danced on the same losing group team, ended the night with the lowest combined total, but viewer votes kept her in the competition. That is the reality of the show’s format: judges’ scores and the public vote are combined, and a solid technical night does not guarantee safety.
Shum Jr. and Dewan were tied on the night, so the tiebreak went to the season totals. Shum Jr. edged ahead 236 to 235, which earns him and Johnson immunity from next week’s dance-off.
Background
Stiles joined Season 35 as one of its best-known names, bringing a film résumé that stretches from teen classics like 10 Things I Hate About You and Save the Last Dance to the Bourne franchise. Save the Last Dance made her a dance-movie icon for a generation of fans, which made her run on the ballroom floor a natural talking point from the season premiere.
With pro partner Ezra Sosa, she outlasted eight other celebrities from the original 16-star lineup before Monday’s result, finishing eighth overall.
The season is hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, with Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough on the judging panel.
What’s Next
Seven couples remain: Shum Jr. and Johnson, Dewan and Chmerkovskiy, Frech and Karagach, Glenn and Pashkov, Ali and Ravnik, Higgins and Ballas, and Wood and Arnold.
Week 9 is themed “Grammy Night” and is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, 2026, on ABC, with episodes also streaming on Disney+. With immunity already secured, Shum Jr. heads into that episode as the clear front-runner, while Higgins will need another strong fan vote. The Season 35 finale is set for November 24.
